Independent Forest Audits (IFA)

Description: Served as biologists on independent forest audit teams auditing forest management units in northwestern and northeastern Ontario. Responsibilities included field examination and review of documentation for areas of concern, stream crossings, application of moose habitat guidelines, and other criteria relating to ecological sustainability.

Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI)

Description: Served as biologist on a multi-disciplinary team auditing the Kenogami Forest using the SFI audit protocol for Kimberly-Clark Inc.

Review of Draft Forest Stewardship Council Boreal Standards

Description: Served as ecologist on a multi-disciplinary Smartwood team field-testing the draft boreal standards of the Forest Stewardship Council. Included review, editing, and field-testing at two SFL's in northern Ontario, with primary focus on Principle 6: Environmental Impacts.
